Open A1/A3
It is the first flight qualification, in Open category you perform low-risk operations, allows to fly in rural areas without the presence of people and pilot drones weighing more than or equal to 250 grams. There is a theoretical examination of 40 suggested multiple-choice questions. The Open A1/A3 exam is taken individually and independently by each student on the ENAC platform, requires a personal payment of €31.00 and the need to have SPID credentials.
The topics for the Open A1/A3 examination are structured by ENAC so that the remote pilot can demonstrate:
- Understanding of the risks to aviation safety, airspace limitations and consequent aeronautical regulation;
- Ability to assess risk and limitations of human performance;
- Basic knowledge of flight operating procedures;
- Knowledge of privacy and data protection, insurance and security rules;
- Knowledge of UAS and their main functions.
The Open A1/A3 exam can be taken independently wherever you want on the ENAC website.
