Specific STS

This is the third and last theoretical flight rating, in category Specific operations are performed that do not fall within the limits imposed by the category Open. It is possible to fly with the drone in particularly complex environments. For example: in restricted areas, close to people, in urban/residential areas, near sensitive infrastructure such as motorways, power plants, railway lines, Missions to inspect infrastructure and facilities, and for search and rescue operations. There is a theoretical examination of 30 suggested multiple-choice questions. The Specific STS exam is taken individually and by each student on ENAC platform, in a "proctored" environment or supervised at the Academy’s headquarters, it requires a personal payment of 31 € and the need to have SPID credentials.

The topics for Specific STS are structured by ENAC so that the remote pilot can demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of aviation law
  • Knowledge of a drone (UAS) and its technical and operational measures for risks;
  • Knowledge of operating procedures, flight preparation, METAR, NOTAM and TAR;
  • Knowledge of meteorology and ability to assess flight conditions;
  • Understanding of the risks and limitations of human performance.

ExaDrone Academy is authorized by ENAC to carry out the Specific STS exam at our premises in "proctored mode".

In addition, we recommend the course "Preparatory at the Specific STS exam", which includes topics on which the exam is based.

ExaDrone Academy offers a professional and detailed course, conducted by professionals of the aeronautical, regulatory and engineering sector. Having professionals by your side is an advantage, because it will lead to develop a form of mind that will be useful in the future professional activity that the student wants to undertake, providing excellent service and a rigor on flight safety, typical of the aeronautical environment.
